biography
A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Minister Joshua Goines joined The Takoma Park Seventh-day Adventist Church in April 2024. He is passionate about creating meaningful worship experiences and is dedicated to igniting individuals' relationships with God through music.
Joshua’s musical journey began at a young age, and he has been involved in church music for most of his life. After completing formal studies in organ and conducting, Joshua has led worship services in various regions of the United States, Canada, and Europe.
Minister Goines designs blended worship services incorporating various musical styles and art disciplines. His goal is to foster a worship experience that reflects the diversity and creativity of the church community. From 2011 to 2013 and again from 2015 to 2019, he served as music director for the blended worship service at Pioneer Memorial Church, the flagship church of Andrews University. While on sabbatical from school, Minister Goines also taught choir and handbells at Shenandoah Valley Academy. He and SVA’s choir and orchestra presented sessions on blended worship at the Youth In Mission conference in Germany.
Beyond his love for music, Minister Goines is deeply committed to his faith. Worship is a powerful way to connect with God and strengthen relationships with others. With God's guidance, he is dedicated to leading Takoma Park Church in meaningful, inspiring worship experiences that resonate with the community and congregation.
Joshua enjoys traveling, cooking, attending concerts, and exploring new things in his free time.
