Community Outreach Ministries
Takoma Park Bible School
We believe that each person should study for themselves that they may "be enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge..." 1 Corinthians 1:5.
We believe a thorough knowledge of the scriptures is vital:
- To understand our true condition that we might come to Jesus for redemption.
- To experience salvation at it's fullest and live the abundant life
- To nourish our saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
- To test all things that we might know the truth and escape deception.
- That we might be established firmly from the Bible and the Bible only.
Therefore we are committed to offering free Bible Studies to any and all who ask. Instructors meet every Wednesday from 9:00-Nooon. Drop in and see what we are all about.
Lord's Lunch
This ministry is all about providing food, free of charge, to people in need. What we do is simple. We collect wholesome, fresh food, directly from local grocery chains and deliver these groceries to our neighbors who have fallen on hard times. We also deliver food to service organizations such as Shephard’s Table, Progress Place, the Sligo Community Center, and various other helping based organizations.
Maybe you want to make a difference. Come to the Takoma Park Church and join us. We always need more people to help make a difference in the lives of others.
The Real Word
Perhaps you’re looking to start a brand new relationship with God, or maybe you already have one and would like to strengthen that bond. Wherever you are in your journey with Him, we’d like to help you.
We invite you to come out and be a part of a meaningful & God-filled worship service led by youth from the D.C. metropolitan area. We would love for you to join us every first and third Saturday of each month as we share what it means to have a real relationship with God and encourage each other in a spiritual walk.

Prison Ministries
The Prison Ministry Program is led by the direction of the Holy Spirit through professionally trained volunteers. All instructors have completed at least two comprehensive seven-hour prison evangelism training courses. The Prison Ministry Evangelism Team conducts services in Cumberland, Maryland, at the Western Correctional Institution once a month on Saturday, and on Sunday at the Oakhill Youth Center in Laurel, Maryland. We also visit the DC Jail periodically.
Prison ministry, like any other ministry, offers as many spiritual returns, as it offers opportunities. As you share the Word of God with those incarcerated, your heart will be filled to overflowing. But just like any other ministry, there is always a need for more workers in the vineyard. Whatever your talents or interests, we want to extend an invitation for you to come to the Takoma Park Church and join us in this important ministry.
Starting Over
Starting Over is a support group dedicated to serving those whose lives have been touched by loss; whether through death, end of a relationship, or other reasons for separation. Anyone attending these sessions will find encouragement, fellowship, strength, love and a warm and safe place during their difficult times and will be able to share with others who have experienced some of the same emotions.
Recognizing grief as a life-changing, yet common, human experience, it is our hope that through this support group you will find understanding, comfort and hope. Starting Over meets twice a month and focuses on issues relating to your need. Attendance is free and open to anyone regardless of religious affiliation.
